To ensure relaxation, quality of the experience and comfort of all guests receiving services within the private suite and surrounding suites, please do not bring guests to your scheduled appointment.  Space is restricted to single guests receiving services during their scheduled time. 


Please also do not arrive more than 5 minutes prior to your scheduled service time. 

RESCHEDULING & Cancellations

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment commitment, please reschedule or cancel at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment start time.

  • Appointments rescheduled or cancelled without 24 hours advanced notice may be subject to a charge of up to 100% of the service cost. No shows will also be restricted from future bookings.

  • Makeup application cancellations made with a 24 hour advanced notice may be rescheduled once to a future date within 30 days of the original appointment date to avoid a new retainer. Makeup cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will forfeit the non-refundable retainer and a new retainer will be required for future bookings.  

  • Arrival more than 10 minutes past the scheduled appointment start time may require rescheduling and may be subject to a charge of up to 100% of the service cost.


Payments are non-refundable. If you are not happy with your service please let us know during your appointment and allow the opportunity to correct your concerns. Your satisfaction is extremely important and all effort will be made to adjust the service to your liking.

Do you accept walk-ins?

Walk-ins are currently not accepted at this time. However same day appointments may be available and appointments may be booked online at your convenience. 

How often should I shape my brows?

Generally no sooner than 3-4 weeks.

How long does tint last?

Generally up to 2-4 weeks on the hair. However results vary. 

What is a patch test and when is it necessary?

For your safety a patch test is required for first time tint and lamination services performed by Beauty by Shantika as a precaution against potential allergic reaction to chemicals used in hair dye and lamination treatments. The patch test takes less than 5 minutes to complete and must be done at least 24-48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment. During the patch test a small amount of product will be applied to your inner wrist , inner elbow , or behind your ear wear it should be monitored for any reaction such as swelling, itching, burning, and/or redness, etc. Should you experience a reaction, we would not be able to proceed with the service. 

Which is better, waxing or threading?

The answer is based on both personal preference and contraindications unique to each individual client. Contraindications to waxing include current use of retinoids, AHA/BHA acids, and other skin resurfacing ingredients; recent skin resurfacing procedures such as chemical peels or microdermabrasion; skin sensitivities; skin thinning medications, etc. Threading would be a safer alternative for clients with these contraindications. 

Is a retainer required?

Makeup appointments are considered booked after receipt of a $30 non-refundable retainer during online booking. The remaining balance is due upon services rendered. Bridal packages are confirmed after receipt of a 25% non-refundable retainer as specified in the signed contract and custom package invoice. Please see contract details for retainer requirements and remaining balance due.​

Why is a credit card required to reserve appointments?

To avoid short notice cancellations and no shows a credit card is required to secure all non-makeup appointments (makeup appointments are secured with a non-refundable retainer). Appointment time slots are limited. In fairness to all clients seeking to reserve an appointment, and to the salon in order to fill all available slots, it is necessary to ensure changes to scheduled appointments are made with adequate notice. Multiple appointment reminders are sent via email and text message.  Appointments cancelled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment start time will not be charged. 

How do I reschedule or cancel my appointment?

Appointment changes may be made online up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled appointment start time using the direct link provided in the appointment email confirmation upon booking. A link is also provided in appointment reminder emails. In order to cancel or reschedule an appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled start time please call (803) 447-1803.
